Journey · Stopover
Singapore, Slowly

Stopover
4 to 5 nights
The city, then Sentosa
Best months
Any month. February to April is driest.
Curator’s statement
Everyone stops in Singapore and nobody sees it. We lived there for 20 years, so this is the one journey where the authority is ours to claim. The hawker stall at the right hour, the Michelin room on the right night, Tiong Bahru before the crowds, a cocktail somewhere with no sign on the door.
Four nights, split between the city and Sentosa. Five if the food is the reason you came.
Day by day
How the days fall.
A starting shape. The month you travel will move it.
Days
1 to 2
The city
Kampong Glam and Tiong Bahru before the heat. Tian Tian at 10:30. Gardens by the Bay after 5.

Days
3 to 4
Sentosa
The quiet half. Rainforest, pool, and Jumbo at East Coast Park for chili crab one evening.

Days
5 to 6
Duxton Hill
The fifth night, for the food. Amoy Street for lunch, Keong Saik Road after dark.
